The fame of the mangosteen transported by European colonists from Asia was so widespread that Queen Victoria of England even said that she would knight the hero who brought her one of the "queen of fruits." Mangosteens, which deteriorated until they were transported from Asia to Europe by ship at that time, can reach us safely today thanks to modern technology.
