Apricot

Turkey's Sweetest!

The origin of the apricot dates back to 5000 years ago, in China. From there, it first infiltrated Iran, then the Mediterranean countries, and was spread all over the world by Spanish explorers. His arrival in Anatolia was during the campaigns of Alexander the Great. When the climatic conditions and soil were suitable, Anatolia became the second homeland of apricots. Apricots loved Anatolia so much that we became the world's largest apricot growing country.

We named apricot 'yellow plum' by comparing its shape to a plum, and in some regions it is even referred to as just a plum. If you call plum after an apricot in Erzincan, it still looks back today.
